Visual Music Showcase

At Gray Area, you may have noticed that our recent productions have included a curated selection of visualists that respond to live sound performance. We spend a lot of time searching far and wide for new visual works, and are using this Visual Music selection to highlight some of our favorite visual artists who take inspiration from sound. Visual music refers to systems which convert music or sound directly into visual forms, such as film, video or computer graphics, by means of a mechanical instrument, an artist’s interpretation, or a computer. The exhibition will be opening up during our Creative Code Meetup August 15th, 2013 from 7pm-11pm at the Folsom Street Foundry and closing on September 12th.
