We're bringing together a community of engineers to inspire and build creative technical solutions to bring Design Thinking to the world.

HACK.d: Stanford d.school Hackathon

The d.school is hosting its inaugural hackathon to provoke sharing, networking, and growing. We’re bringing together a community of engineers to inspire and build creative technical solutions to bring Design Thinking to the world.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Friday evening after Opening Remarks, folks will self-select into teams. We strongly encourage participants to find interdisciplinary partners for a diverse perspective on the challenge. Part of the fun will be meeting talented developers and members of the Stanford community. PRIZES will also be awarded.

WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your own computers, keyboards, tablets, and any supplies you might need. We’ll provide electricity and internet. If you plan on staying the night, please bring your own pillow and sleeping bag. And bring your own water bottles to save the world, just a little bit at a time.

FOOD & DRINK:
We’ll provide meals and coffee service throughout the 48 hours to help you dedicate to programming creative, amazing stuff.

SKILL LEVELS:
We are looking to create live prototypes of mobile tools / apps and websites within 48 hours of opening remarks. We invite all developers, engineers, designers, UX and UI experts, and producers who want to participate in a high-energy and collaborative weekend activity. PLEASE NOTE: code will be available to the current WORDPRESS site for prototyping.

Judges include: David Kelley, Founder, d.school & IDEO; George Kembel, Executive Director & Co-founder, d.school; John Lilly, Partner, Greylock, former CEO, Mozilla; and Bing Gordon, Partner, KPCB.
